So I have been away for almost a year. I didn't even really get my site up and running before I bailed because life got too busy. But now I am re-inspired and I have Pinterest and the economy to thank for that. I have spent hours on www.Pinterest.com finding great ideas that I now want to make, redo, repurpose, redesign or eat! What a great site to be able to have it all right there in front of me and what a perfect reminder that I don't really accomplish as much as I should - oh vay!!! Time to get off the couch!! Course my tired body at the end of the day feels like I was productive but now I have all these great ideas and it's time to get stuff done!
We had our house on and off the market for over 2 years so I haven't had the chance to change anything because what would be the point. Actually, I am wrong, I did change things per our Realtor, take down and put away all the clutter and personal items. Yes, you have stumbled on the site of a person who has a More is More mentality. I have BOXES of stuff in my attic that I packed away for the Realtor and have not really missed but it is ALL coming back out!! My husband and I thought it would be a great time to be able to find a new house but of course we had to sell our current house. That didn't work so we have decided to stay put for the time being. Once we made that decision, the floodgates opened on all the ideas I would like to do to this house to make it more a home. Our house is nice, it has good square footage 3,210 (3,710 if you add our Florida basement), but a crappy floor plan. I am a FIRM believer in "a place for everything and everything in its place".
So this blog will be about mommy mishaps, house rejuvenation, and my daily (or weekly since I tend to get lazy on posting) adventures. My first order of business will be my daughter, Olivia's bedroom. We have been telling her we would redo her room when we move.
Her current room is orange, pink and polka dots (is that really a color??) with hot pink carpet. It was a fun room but since she has the smallest room in the house, we need to make it smart. I will take down the popcorn ceiling (must have been created by a lazy man because it's hideous), paint the walls and trim, get new furniture (some new to us, some repurposed) and new carpet. This will be my first home makeover for this site.
Can't wait to share all the fun changes. Plus, the fall season is just around the corner and I am a BIG holiday person, decorating every room in my house - yes, bathrooms included!! This will be fun!
P.S. Before pictures of Olivia's room will be posted soon!
